Grief & Loss Therapy
Compassionate support for the days that grief feels bigger than you expected
Grief and Loss
People in grief often feel helpless, caught off guard by how strong the feelings are, wondering if something is wrong with them. Nothing is wrong with you. Grief moves through the body and the nervous system, it isolates us from the world around us, and it does not follow a schedule. I specialize in loss of every kind, because each loss lands on the nervous system in a similar way. My aim is to make room for what you feel, help it make sense, and keep you company in it, so grief can move through you instead of staying buried.
How I Work
I start by validating what you feel and letting you know you are not going crazy. One of the most helpful things is simply telling me about the person you lost, their memories, their qualities, what made your bond matter. From there I help demystify grief: how it affects the body and nervous system, why it isolates you, and how talking about it helps you process rather than bury it. My background is behind this work. I spent ten years in a grief program, ran grief groups, took grief crisis calls, trained in Critical Incident Stress Management, and taught other therapists how to do grief counseling. This includes seven years supporting veterans and first responders through loss. Sessions are 55 minutes, online across California. The work often includes:
Validating feelings that may feel too big or confusing
Sharing memories and honoring what your loved one meant
Understanding how grief moves through the body and nervous system
Using EMDR or Brainspotting where deeper processing helps
